FALLing in Love with London

Hello all! This week overall has been a good one…it was hard to get back in the swing of things after our weekend in France-we literally went all day each of those days non stop so there was no recuperation time in between class and travel. BUT it was still a great week…class and internship went well and we even got to go see WICKED!

Now WICKED was great…the girl who played Elphaba (wicked witch) was absolutely amazing and she was actually the understudy for the performance. I loved seeing it again after experiencing it in NYC and going to the behind the scenes tour. This is one of my favorite musicals and it was a great, new experience to watch it with british accentsJ And to top it off…I bought some Starbucks beforehand to remind me of home-I miss home a lot, but I can’t imagine being back at Elon at this point. This was a great night and I can’t wait to go see Les Miserables so soon!

Also, this week I went to a new place called Regents Park which was absolutely beautiful. Everything was so elaborately placed…fountains, flowers, swings, etc. It was everything you could dream of and more! I had a great time journaling, reading and taking some pictures. These are the days I am living for and enjoying while here…I love being outside and adventuring to new areas and London is the perfect place for both of these!

What else…OH Jacki (my flatmate) decided to get her haircut so we found a salon and all went for moral

support to get her a new style…and she looks wonderful! While we were waiting, we went around to different stores in that area and I found a ring that I have been wanting for so long…it’s a flower with a little diamond in the middle. Other than my pearls, this is my new favorite piece of jewelry J

I must add…this fall weather has been extremely pleasant. I thought that once I came here that it would just rain the whole time. But literally out of the past 4 weeks I have been here, I believe there have been only a handful of rainy days! The sun is shining so brightly these days without a cloud in the sky and I have LOVED it! Anyways, Saturday I woke up early to go to the travel agency to talk about travel plans to Italy and Spain/Madrid soon then we went on to a great, artsy area called Brick Lane. This town was composed of vintage shops one after the other, and everyone walking around was extremely edgy and young. I felt a bit out of place wearing my cardigan and pearls…but it was still quite a fun experience!

Last night we hung out and did some homework then today I woke up early for a great church service at Holy Trinity Brompton. One of my friends from Elon suggested to go there so we tried it out and LOVED it! It was a very lively church and the student ministry seems wonderful. They even invited us to have some free food and fellowship following the service so we got to meet some local students and also some Americans who are studying abroad as well! This was quite the blessing to find this fellowship in such a large place…I hope to go to their student nights on Tuesdays for some bible study and worship! This was definitely a highlight of my week!

I am looking forward to this upcoming week as I prepare for Italy with Kirsten. We are traveling around Sienna and Rome so it should be quite the trip! Be sure to check back after this upcoming weekend for videos and pictures on our trip J I miss everyone so very much and can’t wait to continue in sharing all of my experiences while here!
